Bomrani developed from the solo work of singer and guitarist Behzad Omrani into an ensemble. Its WOMEX biography dates the project to 2008: after recording Yellow Sky, Blue Sun in 2010, Omrani was joined by Mani Mozaka and Jahanyar Ghorbani.3 A January 2017 beehype report instead says the band had recently celebrated its tenth anniversary; that chronology differs from the 2008 start in WOMEX.5

Bomrani was founded in 2008 by Behzad Omrani (singer and guitar player). After working as a solo artist (using “Bomrani” as his stage name) and recording Yellow Sky, Blue Sun in 2010, Mani Mozaka (harmonica and trumpet) and Jahanyar Ghorbani (electric guitar) joined him.

The songs they wrote before 2011 were collected in an album called Naked Socks. After performing in various charity shows in 2012, they gradually started to gain momentum and were recognized by various cultural circles, which led to several collaborations with reputable Iranian theater directors.
In 2014, which marked their first appearance on Iranian National TV, the band started recording its first official studio album Common Vent, released on May 2015. Bomrani performed Common Vent in Azadi Concert Hall in eight nights in the summer of 2015.
