Life & work
Albums and recordings
Azar worked with Pallett, Dang Show and Dal. His biography places that work in 2009–2016, and Pallett lists him as a former member.23
Blue Gray (آبی خاکستری), his debut album, dates to 2019. It sets a personal love story in an experimental electronic soundscape, with vocals and electric instruments.2 His second album, 40 (چهل), followed in 2025 as a meditation on four decades of life and craft, in a minimalist blend of vocals and acoustic instruments.2
On Vâveylâ, Azar sings, arranges, and plays every contrabass part; the arrangement uses only contrabass.4 Other songs pair him with Naria Nour on Gole Naar,5 Mahya Hamedi on Spring's Tear, which draws on “Noruz tu rahe,”67 and Dey Project on Let Your Hair Down.8 She Might Be is billed with Behnam Abolghassem and Alireza Koliai.9
Other recording appearances
Fereydoun Bahrami's single “The Other” features Darius Azar.10 Azar sings on “Ahesteh,” whose lyrics, composition and arrangement are by Kābin.11 On Daal's “The Red Moon (Live Record),” Azar plays contrabass.12
