Life & work
Jazz and ensemble work
The Iranian Musicians Union dates his move into professional music to 1373 SH, when he began performing with the group called آتین. That year, he and three other musicians formed a jazz quartet called پرسیکو کوارتت. They explored jazz by playing pieces from its history.1
In 1384 SH, he formed the Peter Soleimanipour Ensemble to perform his compositions. The Union obituary lists performers including Mahan Mirarab, Habib Meftah and Dara Daraee across different concerts.1
Recorded work
His own album Egosystem sits alongside guest work: on the 2002 various-artists compilation Qeshm Island, he performs the 7:30 track “Daryadaad”.234
On Soheil Nafisi’s 2011 Lyra & Hymn, Peter appears as a featured musician on “Taraneh”.5
On Makan Ashgvari’s “Bi Saropa”, Peter plays bass clarinet, Soheil Peyghambari plays clarinet, and Ashgvari plays piano and sings.6
