Life & work
Music and words
In an interview with Metal Magazine, Bahram recalls his father collecting music cassettes and singing at family gatherings, while his mother read poetry and novels. As a child he read works by Forough Farrokhzad and Sadegh Hedayat.4
Bahram recalls Ahmadinejad saying the government should focus on the economy rather than women’s clothing, while morality-police patrols arrested women over their appearance. He says the contradiction prompted him to write Nameyee be Rayees Jomhoor as an open letter, aiming for serious and empathetic social criticism.4 His official discography lists 24 Sa'at as an August 2008 album, with Atour credited for its music production.5
Sound and storytelling
Looking back on his work with beatmakers, Bahram says many, especially early in their careers, made music through sampling; many beats he selected contained existing music. He felt familiar sounds could connect with listening tastes in Iran, but says some beats they used had not been cleared for representation and reproduction rights, causing copyright issues.4
For the 2015 album Eshtebahe Khoob, Bahram and Mahdyar Aghajani are credited as producers.5 Asked about its reverse-chronological storytelling, Bahram says the technique brought his story to life; he describes its inspiration as the fractal-like process of confronting difficult decisions and its expression in personal growth.4 For the 2023 album Khodha, he describes wanting to redirect anger toward a constructive force and encourage people to confront their inner shadows or suppressed selves.45
Working together
Bahram says he and Ghogha started the Peeleh artist collective in 2019 to build an inclusive, cross-genre network of experts and creatives.4 The official discography credits Ali Sorena as a featured artist on Khoone Khorshid, with music production by Peymandegar and Ashkan Mousavi.5

the challenges of being a rapper in Iran
my father was passionate about music and used to collect cassettes of his favourite musicians.
He used to sing in our family gatherings all the time.
My mother was into poetry and novels.
Growing up, I used to read my mother’s poetry books, such as Another Birth by Forough Farrokhzad and stories such as The Blind Owl or The Stray Dog by Sadegh Hedayat.
Ahmadinejad
focus on stabilising the economy
not, what clothes a certain girl is wearing
arresting women for how they look and what they were wearing
That obvious contradiction just robbed me the wrong way.
I decided to write a song in the form of an open letter
I wanted it to sound serious, legitimate, and empathetic in terms of the quality of my social criticism
many of the beat makers I worked with, especially in the beginning of their careers, used to make music only through the so-called sampling method.
a lot of the beats I picked from their collections contained already existing musical pieces.
sampling beats which contained familiar sounds helped us create a deeper connection with the music taste that was already established in Iran
this caused some copyright issues as the beats we were using has not been cleared in terms of representation and reproduction rights.
How did you come up with the idea to make a concept album using reverse chronology as a storytelling method for your third LP album Eshtebahe Khoob (Good Mistake)?
I found the chronological technique to be the right tool for making the story I wanted to tell alive.
the fractal-like internal process of dealing with complicated decisions in life and how it is manifested in the context of personal growth.
redirect that rage towards a more constructive force
face and accept their inner shadows or suppressed selves
me and Ghogha
started a new artist collective called Peeleh (Coccon) back in 2019, aiming to create an inclusive and cross-genre network of experts and creatives
